Transportation Notes

ANR reported beginning engine repairs at St. John Compressor Station along its Michigan Leg South, reducing total St. John west-to-east capacity by 100 MMcf/d (leaving 1,195 MMcf/d available) through Friday. Based on current nominations, the reduction may result in curtailment of IT and Firm Secondary nominations, ANR said.

Transportation Notes

With a force majeure declared Sunday and associated constraints remaining in effect until further notice at Steele City Compressor Station (see Daily GPI, June 7), Rockies Express (REX) said it has determined that replacing the entire power turbine in lieu of only the damaged section is the most expeditious means of returning Unit #2 to service. Completion of assembling a new turbine is expected this coming Sunday, REX said. The turbine is expected to arrive on site Tuesday, and barring any unforeseen circumstances in shipping, installation and commissioning, the resumption of service at Steele City is now estimated to occur on or about Wednesday, REX said.

Questar Offering New Capacity to/from White River Hub

Questar Pipeline Co. is holding a binding open season through Feb. 18 for the reconfiguration of compression facilities and piping modifications at its Fidlar Compressor Station as well as an increase in the maximum allowed operating pressure of a section of its Mainline 68.

Rockies Express lifted Tuesday the force majeure it had issued Monday in association with a unit outage at Turney Compressor Station. No service was affected, the pipeline said.

Saying customers were overnominating gas at the Kemmerer and Roosevelt stations, Northwest asked them to secure supplies north of Plymouth Compressor Station “to meet the demand created by colder temperatures in all of our market areas in the upcoming days.”

Transportation Notes

Saying it expected to complete repairs sometime Friday, Rockies Express (REX) declared a force majeure event for Thursday’s gas day at Bertrand Compressor Station due to an aftercooler leak on Unit 5. Until further notice REX was limiting quantities through Segment 250 to 1,730,000 Dth/d. Based on the level of scheduled quantities, AOR/IT, secondary and primary FT quantities are at risk of not being fully scheduled, the pipeline said.

Iroquois Kicks Off Open Season on Tennessee-Related Project

Iroquois Gas Transmission System LP Monday announced the start of a binding open season for its Wright Transfer Compressor (WTC) project, which would add up to 15,400 hp of transfer compression at Iroquois’ existing interconnecting with Tennessee Gas Pipeline’s 200 Line in Wright, NY.

CIG declared a force majeure following an engine turbocharger failure at its Laramie East Compressor Station. Effective with Saturday’s gas day CIG was reducing station capacity form 770 MMcf/d to 680 MMcf/d until further notice. Currently the capacity is fully subscribed at the 770 MMcf/d level, the pipeline said.

Rockies Express (REX) said Friday it had removed a damaged transformer at Cheyenne Compressor Station and set a new one in place. “Work on connecting the new transformer is proceeding around the clock,” REX said. “With the current progress, and barring any unforeseen circumstances with start-up, resumption of service is now anticipated to occur on Monday.”
