Yemen LNG Brings Second Train Online

Yemen LNG Co. began producing liquefied natural gas (LNG) from its second train last Thursday, one month ahead of schedule. With the completion of Train 2 at the LNG terminal at Balhaf on the Gulf of Aden, Yemen LNG production will soon reach design capacity of 6.7 million metric tons per year, the company said Friday.

CIG reported anticipating the completion of repairs to its Totem Storage Field dehydration facility in time to permit the return of full Totem service effective with Timely Cycle nominations for Thursday’s gas day. It canceled a force majeure that had precluded withdrawal transactions at the field since late last week (see Daily GPI, Dec. 14).

Coalbed Methane Study Finds More Gas in Shallower Coals

Going against conventional belief surrounding multizone completion success in coalbed methane wells, more natural gas and less water was found in the shallower coals of the wells tested, according to a study just completed by GST WellDog, a privately held natural gas development research and analysis firm that was tasked with developing coalbed methane development best practices.
