Exelon Corp. and Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) have reached a comprehensive agreement with the antitrust division of the U.S Department of Justice (DOJ) that Exelon said will resolve all competition issues reviewed by the DOJ in connection with the proposed merger of Exelon and PSEG.

Transportation Notes

Columbia Gulf reported completion of repairs to a leak on its 20-inch offshore CNT Line upstream of the B side of the Eugene Island 250 platform. Operators were being allowed Wednesday to resume flow at eight meters — four where Columbia Gulf and Tennessee have connections at the same platforms and another four Tennessee meter locations that were affected when the leak was discovered last week (see Daily GPI, March 24).

Petal Gas Plans Open Season for Storage, Pipe Capacity

Enterprise Products Partners LP last Monday said its subsidiary, Petal Gas Storage LLC of Petal, MS, will hold a non-binding open season for up to 5 Bcf of firm natural gas storage capacity that is expected to be available in the fourth quarter of 2007. The company also will hold a concurrent non-binding open season for up to 500 MMcf of firm transportation on its mainline pipeline (Line 100).

Crosstex to Begin Construction of Barnett Shale Pipe

Following completion of its feasibility studies, Crosstex Energy LP said it will proceed with construction of its North Texas Pipeline project to bring natural gas out of the Barnett Shale and into markets in the Midwest and East. The project was first announced last December (see Daily GPI, Dec. 14, 2004).

Anadarko Completes Unique Gas Transport System Beneath BC River

Anadarko Petroleum Corp. last week announced the successful completion of a complex natural gas transportation project beneath the Buckinghorse River in northeastern British Columbia. The project, considered the longest and deepest river crossing of its kind in North America, is currently delivering 8 MMcf/d of previously stranded natural gas, with the capacity to transport up to 30 MMcf/d.
