Alberta Energy Company (AEC) has pulled the Manchester GasStorage Facility in Oklahoma out of the legal quagmire surroundingthe Mountain Energy bankruptcy. AEC subsidiary Salt Plains StorageInc. purchased Manchester, which is located in Grant County, OK,for $42 million last month.

Northern Border Enters Canadian Midstream

Northern Border Partners LP announced its intention to enter theCanadian midstream business. The company is buying the 87 MMcf/dMazeppa sour gas processing plant southeast of Calgary and aminority interest in the 85-mile Gregg Lake/Obed Pipeline (150MMcf/d of capacity), which is west of Edmonton, AB, from DynegyCanada. The purchase is expected to close during the first quarter.

Raymond James: Running Out of Gas

The gas price projections of the ever-bullish analysts atRaymond James and Associates’ are going up in $1.25 incrementsthese days. The company boosted its Henry Hub price forecast to$5.75/Mcf for 2001 from $4.50 in reaction to what it called a”looming crisis” in the gas market. The increase puts RaymondJames’ forecast a whopping $1.62/Mcf more than the Wall Streetconsensus, according to First Call, but still about a quarter shyof the 12-month futures strip.
