LDH Energy Pipeline LP said that it has completed construction of a natural gas liquids pipeline from Hull, TX, to the Mont Belvieu natural gas liquids hub. The pipeline construction and commissioning were completed earlier this month with initial product deliveries beginning last week. Joe Rothbauer, vice president of midstream operations for LDH Energy Pipeline, said, “The pipeline extension will provide incremental natural gas liquid capacity for Permian Basin, East Texas and Barnett Shale development. The 31-mile pipeline will provide direct access to the Mont Belvieu natural gas liquids hub and allows LDH Energy Pipeline to fully utilize the capacity of the entire pipeline system.” Construction of the Hull to Mont Belvieu extension began in late 2006. The 12-inch pipeline has a capacity of more than 130,000 b/d.

BP’s Tangguh LNG Project in Indonesia Picking Up Steam

A BP affiliate has awarded a $1.8 billion engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning contract for its Tangguh liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Indonesia to a group including KBR subsidiary PT Brown & Root Indonesia, JGC Corp. of Japan and PT Pertafenikki Engineering of Indonesia. The contract signing came a week after BP signed an agreement for the $5 billion project with the Indonesian government.

Entergy Corp. and The Shaw Group Inc. have created EntergyShaw LLCto provide management, engineering, procurement, construction andcommissioning services to build electric plants worldwide. The twosigned the letter of intent to form the new company in early June. Itwill be headquartered in Baton Rouge, LA (see Daily GPI, June 5). Entergy and Shaw each will own a50% interest in the new company and Jim Early, a Shaw senior vicepresident, has been appointed president. In the next few years, thecompany is expected to manage the construction of several powerprojects, with a total capital value of more than $6 billion. Theactual number of projects was not announced.
