Frank Murkowski, who also chairs the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission (IOGCC), said that a special task force of the commission and the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners will study ways to enhance the ability of utility companies to enter long-term natural gas marketing agreements to spur development of the long-proposed Alaska natural gas pipeline.

Former Dynegy CEO Watson Chairs New Eagle Energy

Eagle Energy Partners Inc., which received permission last month from FERC to sell natural gas and power capacity, energy and ancillary services at market-based rates, opened shop last Tuesday with some familiar faces at the helm and behind the scenes, including former Dynegy Inc. Chairman Chuck Watson. The new company plans to focus on physical energy delivery for producers, suppliers and end users.
