FERC Tuesday approved Northern Natural Gas Co.’s proposal to increase the certificated storage capacity of its Redfield Storage Field in Dallas County, IA, by 2.1 Bcf to 124.10 Bcf. The withdrawal rate of the facility will remain the same — 460 MMcf/d. Northern Natural sees this as an interim step for this summer, pending approval of a related request to expand Redfield’s capacity by 8 Bcf.

FERC Approves Centerpoint Expansion of Carthage-Perryville Line

FERC on Thursday granted the request of CenterPoint Energy Gas Transmission Co. to increase the certificated capacity of Phases I and II of its Carthage-Perryville Line (CP Line) by approximately 36,000 Dth/d, to reflect operational changes and to increase the maximum allowable operating pressure (MAOP) from 1,000 psig to 1,168 psig (CP06-85-002). Additionally, the Commission approved a Phase III plan for the line to install additional compression (CP07-41).

Dow Snags 15% Equity Stake in Freeport LNG

After signing a 20-year agreement earlier this year for one-third of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) output at the FERC-certificated Freeport LNG terminal, Dow Chemical has decided to purchase a 15% ownership stake in the partnership that is building the terminal.
