Industry Brief
Enterprise Products Partners LP unit Mid-America Pipeline Co. LLC (MAPL) is holding a binding open season through April 29 for a proposed expansion of the Rocky Mountain portion of its natural gas liquids (NGL) pipeline. Originating in the Rocky Mountain Overthrust and San Juan Basin, the 2,793-mile pipeline extends to Enterprise’s Hobbs fractionator in Gaines County, TX. From there the MAPL system links to the Seminole Pipeline, allowing access to NGL fractionation at Mont Belvieu, TX. The expansion could be designed to add 45,000-85,000 b/d of incremental annual average capacity. The Rocky Mountain portion of MAPL currently has a capacity of 275,000 b/d. The project would involve looping pipe sections and upgrades at existing pump stations. MAPL is to announce a decision on the project by May 6, Enterprise said. The additional capacity could be available as soon as the third quarter of 2014. For information contact Bryan McFarland at (713) 381-2468 or bmcfarland@eprod.com.
