Southern Star Central Eyes Expansion in Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas

Owensboro, KY-based Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline is holding a binding open season through Feb. 25 to test market interest in its proposed Ozark Trails Expansion Project. Sempra Energy announced Thursday it has signed a non-binding sale to Tractebel of up to one-third of the throughput capacity of its proposed 1.5 Bcf/d liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal at Cameron, LA. It expects to have a definitive, 20-year contract by June 30. But it also has been fighting off perceptions of legal complications surrounding a second North American LNG project — its Engeria Costa Azul proposed terminal in North Baja — triggered by local opponents of the project.

Gulf South, Texas Gas Want to Expand Gas Supply from Barnett Shale, Bossier Trends

Gulf South Pipeline LP and Texas Gas Transmission LLC began simultaneous non-binding open seasons on Friday to expand natural gas supply from the Barnett Shale and Bossier Trends in Texas and Louisiana. The proposed in-service date for incremental firm capacity could be as early as Nov. 1, with some capacity available as soon as March 1.

Unocal Holding Open Season for Proposed Sabine Pass Terminal

Unocal Midstream & Trade (UMT) is holding a non-binding open season through Oct. 27 for 6 Bcf of natural gas storage capacity at its proposed Sabine Pass Gas Storage facility. Construction on the new facility, which will be located within Unocal Corp.’s terminal operations near Beaumont, TX, is scheduled to start in 2006, with operations underway by late 2008.
