Northwest said the Jackson Prairie storage facility will become available again for customer withdrawals on Friday’s gas day. The pipeline said it also will perform a withdrawal test that day and encouraged customers to limit banking as on-system balancing will be limited.

Transportation Notes

After previously noting that Critical Days for storage would become more common through the end of injection season, Columbia Gas (TCO) said Friday the gas days of Saturday through Monday would be deemed as such Critical Days. Based on its injection capacity and on forecasted firm requirements, TCO projected that all available injection capacity would be required to meet firm service obligations, with no likelihood of interruptible services. Withdrawals were not impacted. AutoPAL (Park and Loan) service would not be available through the weekend, TCO said.

Hess, CONSOL to Partner in Utica Shale

On the heels of a mega Marcellus Shale partnership agreement in August, CONSOL Energy Inc. on Wednesday announced that Hess Corp. would become its partner on half of its nearly 200,000 acres in the prospective Utica Shale in eastern Ohio.

After ending a previous Overage Alert Day (OAD) Friday but saying a new one might become necessary soon, Florida Gas Transmission wasted little time before implementing a new OAD for market-area customers Saturday. The tolerance for negative daily imbalances was initially set at 20% that day but was increased to 25% Sunday and Monday.
