It recommends that reinstatement of certain leases may be appropriate following the review.

Wyoming BLM Pulls 13 Leases Scheduled for Tuesday Sale

Responding to protests from the governor and environmental groups, the federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM) office in Wyoming pulled 13 of the 229 parcels scheduled to be auctioned Tuesday. The 13 parcels encompass about 28,500 acres in the Upper North Platte Valley near Encampment and Saratoga, WY.

Auction of Enron Headquarters Under Way

Enron Corp.’s familiar crooked “E” was auctioned off more than a year ago, and now its storied downtown Houston headquarters soon may belong to someone else. Two years to the day after Enron filed for bankruptcy, the company began taking bids Tuesday on the 55-story building.

Enron Trading Operations to be Auctioned Jan. 7

Enron Corp. got the go-ahead Wednesday from the U.S. federal bankruptcy judge handling its case to proceed with an auction of its commodities trading operations, setting a Jan. 7 deadline for bids. Enron said it wanted to complete the sale by Jan. 11. Judge Arthur Gonzalez approved expedited procedures to allow Enron to auction hardware, software, employment contracts for traders and other assets.
