Encana Corp. is taking a 30% stake in the planned Kitimat liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal on the west coast of central British Columbia (BC) and its associated gas pipeline, the Calgary-based company said Friday. Encana is joining units of Apache Corp. and EOG Resources Inc. in the project, which will target Asian markets with western Canadian gas supplies.

Eagle Ford Gathering LLC, a joint venture (JV) of Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP and Copano Energy LLC, has struck a long-term agreement to provide natural gas gathering, transportation, processing and fractionation services to Anadarko E&P Co. LP in the Eagle Ford Shale, the companies said.

Copano Energy LLC plans to increase capacity to handle natural gas liquids (NGL) associated with growing gas production from the Eagle Ford Shale in South Texas, the midstream company said.

As national experts associated with the federal investigation and/or the gas pipeline industry continue assessing the aftermath, Pacific Gas and Electric Co. (PG&E) spent most of Tuesday trying to put in perspective a wide range of misinformation and speculation circulated in news reports concerning the gas transmission pipeline explosion and fire in San Bruno last Thursday (see Daily GPI, Sept. 15; Sept. 13).
