PRB Gas, Enterra to Jointly Develop CBM Properties in Wyoming, Montana
PRB Gas Transportation Inc. and Enterra Energy Trust on Tuesday announced a letter of intent to develop coalbed methane (CBM) properties in Wyoming and Montana. Under the arrangement, PRB will have the right to earn up to a 50% working interest in Enterra’s recently acquired subsidiary Rocky Mountain Gas Inc. (RMG), which includes more than 130,000 net acres of CBM production rights.
TransCanada Power to Buy Two BC Hydroelectric Plants
TransCanada Power L.P. on Wednesday confirmed that it has entered into an exclusive arrangement to acquire companies that indirectly own Hydro Investment Corp., which in turn indirectly owns two hydroelectric facilities in British Columbia. The purchase price is C$162 million (including the assumption of debt) and is subject to the usual closing adjustments.
TransCanada PipeLines Ltd. Creates Corporate Parent
TransCanada Corp. said that the plan of arrangement to establish it as the parent company of TransCanada PipeLines Ltd. has received all necessary regulatory approvals and certificates. As a result, the agreement went into effect Thursday.

Southern Company Energy Marketing said it opened an energymarketing operation in Western Canada in conjunction with thesigning of an arrangement to manage the business of Pan-Alberta GasLtd. The new marketing operation has about 60 employees, most ofwhom previously worked for Pan-Alberta. Southern Company EnergyMarketing announced in January that it had agreed in principle tomanage the assets of Pan-Alberta, Canada’s second-largest exporterof natural gas. Southern has marketed about 7 Bcf/d, whilePan-Alberta has sold about 1.2 Bcf/d. Pan-Alberta is owned by morethan 400 Western Canada natural gas producers and has nearly US$1.5billion in sales annually. Its assets include long-term dedicatedgas supply arrangements and more than 1.2 Bcf/d of pipelinetransportation capacity.
