Flush with more equity, Denver-based FourPoint Energy LLC said it has completed a $188 million acquisition in the Texas portion of the Anadarko Basin.

Plains All American Pipeline LP (PAA) and Anadarko Petroleum Corp. each said Wednesday they will hold open seasons for projects to move West Texas crude oil, the third and fourth such announcements in less than a week.

Despite placing a record 900 tracts of the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska (NPR-A) up for auction Wednesday, oil and natural gas producers stayed away, leaving the Department of Interior’s (DOI) Bureau of Land Management (BLM) left to count a paltry seven bids.

Ken Hendricksand Erin Campbell have been appointed to the four-member Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission by Gov. Matt Mead. Hendricks, a petroleum engineer, recently retired from Anadarko Petroleum Corp. and would replace Tom Fitzsimmons, who has resigned. Campbell, who becomes state geologist on Nov. 21, would join the commission in mid-December, replacing Tom Drean, who is retiring as state geologist.

Tecolote Energy LLC on Monday said it achieved two milestones with one well drilled into the Anadarko Basin in the Texas Panhandle, with the longest horizontal lateral ever and the highest production rate recorded.

Anadarko Petroleum Corp.has shuffled its management team following the departure of Executive Vice President (EVP) Brad Holly, who was in charge of U.S. onshore exploration. Holly has resigned to pursue “other interests.” Danny Brown, formerly EVP of international and deepwater operations, was tapped to lead U.S. onshore operations, with responsibility for upstream and midstream activity in Colorado, Texas, Utah and Wyoming. Ernie Leyendecker, who was handling international/deepwater exploration, was named EVP of worldwide exploration, which now includes U.S. onshore activity. EVP Mitch Ingram, formerly running the global liquefied natural gas arm, is taking over international and deepwater operations, as well as project management.
