Great Lakes Gas Transmission is holding an open season for a seasonal gas exchange between May 1, 2001 and March 31, 2002. Great Lakes proposes an agreement with a single party for the pipeline to receive about 1.7 Bcf into its system during the 2001 summer months and deliver an equivalent amount of gas back to that party during the 2001/2002 winter months. Enron Broadband Services Content Systems LLC has signed along-term agreement with EBWorld.com and Into Networks Inc. todeliver games on demand, the first application to launch as part ofa strategic alliance between the companies. The service isscheduled to begin June 1. EBWorld.com is a subsidiary ofElectronic Boutique Holdings Corp. of West Chester, PA, whichoperates 740 stories in 46 states and around the world. IntoNetworks, headquartered in Cambridge, MA, is licensing itstechnology to Electronics Boutique, and Enron will providestrategic, financial and operational services to Into to offerbroadband customers secure access to software on a rental basis.The alliance is attempting to optimize and increase delivery ofstreaming applications over broadband connections using software ondemand technology.

Shaw to Build Three Midwest Plants for PG&E

The Shaw Group Inc., based in Baton Rouge, has signed anagreement with PG&E National Energy Group to construct 3,300 MWof new generating capacity, comprising three combined-cycle powerplants, with the first plant to be constructed in Michigan. Noexact location or financial details were disclosed.

Northern Border Partners L.P. has executed a definitiveagreement to purchase Midwestern Gas Transmission from El PasoCorp. for an undisclosed price. The sale is expected to close inthe second quarter of this year, subject to necessary approvals.

Aquila Acquires 10 GE Turbines

Aquila Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of UtiliCorp United,announced yesterday that it has entered into an agreement topurchase an additional 10 natural gas-fired turbines from GeneralElectric (GE). Combined with previously announced agreements,Aquila has ordered a total of 21 turbines over the past 12 months.

PA PUC Approves Equitable Settlement

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission has approved atentative settlement agreement with Equitable Gas Co. following anexplosion in September 1998 that killed one person. The explosionoccurred after an Equitable employee failed to accurately mark agas line to a home for repair by Duquesne Light Co. Duquesne Lightthen damaged the line, which caused the explosion in McKeesport,PA.
