Questar Pipeline Co. is holding a binding open season through Sept. 10 for capacity that will be created by new replacement compressor facilities at its existing Simon Station in Sweetwater County, WY.

The project would enable Questar to transport up to an additional 63,000 Dth/d from receipt points located east of the Simon Station on Questar’s main lines 22, 23, 26, 27, 86 and jurisdictional laterals 9 and 65, according to the pipeline, a wholly owned subsidiary of Salt Lake City, UT-based Questar Corp.

Deliveries may be available at northern system interconnects (Colorado Interstate Gas, Wyoming Interstate Co., Overthrust Pipeline, Questar Gas and Southern Star); southern system interconnects (Kern River Gas Transmission, Questar Gas and White River Hub); and Overthrust delivery points (Ruby Pipeline, Kern River, Rockies Express Pipeline and Ryckman Storage).

Shippers acquiring this capacity at the required reservation rate and term will also have access to all other Questar Pipeline mainline receipt and delivery points on a secondary basis.

Assuming there is sufficient binding support by Oct. 1 to underwrite the cost of the facilities, Questar said it anticipates that part of the facilities can be placed in service by Nov. 1 of this year for an initial volume of 28,000 Dth/d. The remainder of the facilities are targeted for service by Nov. 1, 2013.
