Poland has broken free of its dependence on Russian energy supplies, increasing both its natural gas pipeline and LNG imports from other suppliers.  

Poland had previously relied on Russia as its only gas supplier, but for the first time last year, the country met domestic natural gas demand without Russian imports. 

The Swinoujscie liquefied natural gas terminal on the Baltic Sea, Poland’s sole import facility, took in 4.73 million tons (Mt) of the super-chilled fuel last year, up from 4.47 Mt imported in 2022, according to Kpler data.
