Williams’ Northwest Pipeline is testing market interest in long-term firm transportation service on a proposed pipeline lateral from Greasewood, CO, to Northwest’s mainline near Sand Springs, CO, or to other pipeline interconnections downstream of the Greasewood Hub.

The proposed Greasewood Lateral project would include 33 miles of 16-24-inch diameter pipeline that would deliver growing Piceance Basin gas production to markets along its system and to interconnections with other pipelines serving western and eastern markets. Northwest said it already has received a commitment from its power affiliate for 200,000 Dth/d of transportation capacity for a 15-year term.

“This proposed lateral will provide additional natural gas supply options to Northwest customers for incremental Rockies production,” said Allison Bridges, vice president of commercial operations.

Northwest said the level of commitments would determine the size and cost of the project. It expects to have the new lateral in service in November 2008.
