FERC does not plan to re-schedule the regular bi-monthly meeting that was canceled last week in the wake of the terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C., said a spokeswoman for the agency. Instead, its next meeting will be Sept. 26.
Some of the orders that the Commission was to have considered “are time-sensitive and probably will have to go out prior to the meeting on the 26th,” she noted. But the bulk of the orders that were on the consent agenda will be held over until the Sept. 26 meeting.
As did most of the federal government, FERC shut down operations and sent employees home last Tuesday immediately after news surfaced of the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington and in western Pennsylvania.
The meeting that was scheduled for last Wednesday would have been the first over which new Chairman Pat Wood III presided.
