With flows to the Freeport LNG terminal ramping up in recent days, strengthening the demand outlook as summer approaches, natural gas futures continued to climb in early trading Monday.

After rallying 10.7 cents on Friday, the June Nymex contract was up another 5.8 cents to $2.200/MMBtu at around 8:40 a.m. ET.

Updated Wood Mackenzie pipeline flow data suggested deliveries to the Freeport liquefied natural gas terminal on the Texas coast climbed to around 1.4 Bcf/d on Sunday and totaled around 1.3 Bcf/d as of early Monday. 

As Freeport has dealt with operational issues, flows to the terminal have dropped to near zero at times this spring.
