Efforts to electrify and decarbonize the U.S. economy bode well for the natural gas infrastructure business, according to Williams Companies Inc. CEO Alan Armstrong.

“The fundamentals, right now, are better than they have ever been for gas,” Armstrong said during the Barclays CEO Energy-Power Conference in New York. 

He cited that since 2014, government forecasts have repeatedly underestimated year-ahead annual gas demand from the power sector by about 3 Bcf/d on average.
