Matador Resources Co. finished off 2022 with record natural gas and oil production, positioning the independent to expand its midstream operations and integrate a $1.6 billion bolt-on in the Permian Basin of Advance Energy Partners LLC. 

The producer reported 38.5 million boe in 2022, up 22% from 2021. The record helped prop up the Dallas-based company to purchase Advance’s New Mexico and West Texas Permian acreage. 

Matador also had record production in the fourth quarter, with more than 100,000 boe/d.
