KN Energy International Inc. bought an interest in IntegratedGas Services of Mexico LLC (Igasamex), a Mexico City-based companythat is involved in helping Mexican industry convert to natural gasfrom alternative fuels – such as diesel, propane or fuel oil -through development of supply and transportation projects. It alsoprovides third-party inspection of pipeline construction, andprovides pipeline management services in Mexico. Terms of theacquisition were not disclosed.

“Our acquisition of an interest in Igasamex is a strategic fitwith our business strategy and expansion into Mexican natural gasmarkets, including our development of a natural gas distributionsystem in Hermosillo,” said Bill Garner, KN Energy Internationalexecutive vice president. KN also has been certified to constructthe $41 million Monterrey Pipeline, which will move 270 MMcf/d fromKN Energy’s MidCon Texas Pipeline subsidiary to Monterrey andconnect with Petroleos Mexicanos. Igasame is also owned byIntegrated Gas Services of Tulsa, Inc.
