Kinder Morgan Inc. (KMI) executives trumpeted expectations for robust long-term natural gas demand and U.S. supply growth, both for domestic use and a coming surge in LNG exports from the Gulf Coast to meet mounting global energy needs.

“The natural gas story has real legs. We don’t think there’s any question about that,” said Richard Kinder, executive chairman of the midstream giant that bears his name.

During the Houston-based company’s investor day on Wednesday, Kinder added that he looks for U.S. natural gas demand to swell more than 20 Bcf/d between now and 2030, reaching nearly 129 Bcf/d.
