Honeoye Storage Corp. said Friday that it is inviting offers for firm gas storage service for the coming two storage seasons from its storage facility in Ontario County, just south of Rochester, NY.

The company reported that the service is being offered at market-based rates, and interested parties should submit offers till Jan. 31. Under the offering, bids will be accepted either for one-year storage service beginning on April 1, 2003 and ending on March 31, 2004 or two years storage service beginning on April 1, 2003 and ending on March 31, 2005.

“Up to 1,200 MDth of firm service is available for either a one or two year contract term” said Dr. David A. T. Donohue, Honeoye president. “Injections may begin as early as April 1, 2003. The 120-Day Service will consist of 1,200 MDth at an injection rate of 6,000 Dth/day and a withdrawal rate of 10,000 Dth/day. Honeoye also contemplates offering additional firm storage service for the 2003-2004 storage season prior to April 1, 2003.”

The Honeoye Field — which began operations in 1975 — continues to receive 4,293 MDth of service. The field received authorization to expand its capacity in 2000. It has interconnects with the pipelines of both Tennessee Gas and New York State Gas and Electric. Interested customers will need to make their own transportation arrangements to and from the Honeoye interconnections.

The facility is owned by an affiliate of KeySpan Energy Corp., Consolidated Energy Co. of New York Inc., and its three developers: Dave Donohue, Dick Norman and Jacek Makowski. Honeoye Storage said it will provide all required cushion gas. For more information on the offering, visit www.honeoye-gas-storage.com.
