Germany’s government is moving to site another floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) as the volume of U.S. natural gas entering the country reaches new heights.

In a recently approved bill, Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action amended plans to ramp up short-term LNG import capacity by including an FSRU terminal at the port of Mukran. The port on the island of Rugen is near one of three operating FSRUs in Lubmin.
