FERC last week gave Egan Hub Partners L.P. the green light to expand the maximum operating capacity of its two-cavern facility in Louisiana by 5.5 Bcf.

Egan Hub, which operates in the Jennings Salt Dome in Acadia Parish, LA, plans to increase its certificated capacity from 15.5 Bcf to 21 Bcf, of which 16 Bcf will be working gas. This will be divided between its two storage caverns, with each having a maximum operating capacity of 10.5 Bcf.

It also plans to install an additional 19,130 horsepower of compression. While this won’t have any affect on its current maximum deliverability capability of 1,500 MMcf/d, it will increase Egan Hub’s aggregate maximum injection rate to 800 MMcf/d from 600 MMcf/d, the company said.

In addition, the Commission granted Egan Hub’s request to continue to charge market-based rates for its services, given that its application was unopposed.
