Growth in the Permian Basin, countered by declines in Appalachia and the Haynesville Shale, will see combined natural gas production from key Lower 48 regions hold steady at just over 100 Bcf/d in March, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).

Total production from seven major Lower 48 producing regions — a list that also includes the Anadarko Basin, as well as the Bakken, Eagle Ford and Niobrara shales — will total 100.425 Bcf/d in March, down 25 MMcf/d from estimated February output, EIA said.

The updated estimates, published in the agency’s latest Drilling Productivity Report (DPR) Monday, point to natural gas production growth from February to March for some of the oilier regions in EIA’s dataset.
