Columbia Gas Transmission is considering an expansion of its system from its Broad Run, WV receipt point to Market Area 27 near Cumberland, MD, and is holding an open season through Aug. 31 to assess interest.

In addition, Columbia may consider making expansion capacity available under existing Rate Schedule FTS from receipt points in Operation Area 8 in Western Pennsylvania to delivery points in Market Area 27. Potential shippers are invited submit only one complete bid package. Columbia will also consider offers from existing firm shippers to turn back capacity.

The minimum term for new capacity will be 10 years and shippers may specify a commencement date on or after Nov. 1, 2002. The rate will be the maximum rate under Rate Schedule FTS. The current total effective demand rate under Rate Schedule FTS is $6.322 per Dth per month, and the current total effective commodity rate under Rate Schedule FTS is $0.0226 per Dth.
