Chevron Corp.’s legacy Permian Basin operations recorded an 11% jump in oil and gas output in the second quarter from a year ago, a new quarterly record, the supermajor said.

In a preview of second quarter results, which are scheduled to be issued Friday (July 28), the San Ramon, CA-based producer said Permian output rose to 772,000 boe/d between April and June. 

“Early 2023 Permian well performance in company-operated assets is on track with our full-year guidance,” management said. Chevron expects to record 10% year/year growth in its No. 1 U.S. onshore target, with output averaging 777,000 boe/d.
