A Chevron Corp. subsidiary has inked an agreement to supply Walmart Inc. with compressed natural gas (CNG) linked to renewable natural gas (RNG) production.

Beginning in early 2023, Walmart plans to add Cummins Inc.’s 15-liter CNG-fired engines to some of its heavy-duty trucks as part of the multinational retail corporation’s goal to achieve zero emissions by 2040

As part of the deal, subsidiary Chevron U.S.A. Inc. of the  San Ramon, CA-based supermajor plans to supply the trucks with CNG. The supply would be linked to Chevron’s “RNG production across the country, meaning it is renewable pathway natural gas,” a spokesperson told NGI.
