Wyoming Gov. Matt Mead assumed the chairmanship of the Western Governors’ Association (WGA) at the conclusion of the group’s three-day annual meeting in Incline Village, NV, on Friday. Mead succeeds Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval. Montana Gov. Steve Bullock will serve as vice chairman during Mead’s tenure. Mead said WGA will focus on the federal Endangered Species Act as his chairman’s initiative for 2016.
