The American Petroleum Institute (API) has put forth a 10-point policy plan it wants the Biden administration to adopt to promote U.S. oil and natural gas production – and ease the global energy crisis.

“As energy costs and geopolitical instability around the world continue to rise, API is calling on policymakers to confront the global mismatch between energy demand and available supply that has driven higher fuel prices by supporting greater U.S. production and infrastructure,” the industry group said last week.

API’s recommendations include accelerating liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports and approving pending LNG applications, ending permitting obstruction for natural gas projects, and reforming the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) permitting process.
