Northern Natural Gas, the operator of offshore Texas Matagorda Offshore Pipeline System (MOPS), said it was requiring the shut-in of all MOPS platforms by Tuesday afternoon due to potential hurricane activity in the Gulf of Mexico. Northern said it was beginning allocation of all scheduled MOPS volumes starting with the Intraday 1 nominations cycle for Tuesday’s gas day but anticipates a return to service Friday for those points based on forecasts of the storm’s path.

As a result of “integrity activities,” Transco said Tuesday it has limited flexibility to manage shipper imbalances. “Based on current operating conditions and forecasted temperatures in much of [the] market area, Transco strongly encourages all parties not to create any due-to-shipper imbalances on the system and to proactively balance their supply and demand requirements on a daily basis, ensuring that flowing supplies have real markets.” Transco also said it will maintain restrictions on excess storage injections and parking or return of loaned gas, and will reduce pool balancing tolerances to 1% effective Thursday until further notice.
