Southwest Gas said pipe maintenance being performed near its interconnect with Transwestern and El Paso is not progressing as quickly as anticipated, causing the maintenance schedule to be extended. It is anticipated that the pipeline will return to service on Thursday this week instead of Tuesday (April 14) as previously indicated, Southwest said. Deliveries into Las Vegas from El Paso and Transwestern are not available while the work continues, the LDC added.

CIG reminded shippers that it will be performing an annual Department of Transportation-mandated Emergency Shutdown (ESD) systems check Wednesday at Greasewood Compressor Station, reducing station capacity from 195 MMcf/d to 140 MMcf/d. The Dark Canyon and Parachute meter stations will be reduced to zero during this outage. CIG anticipates that the Dark Canyon capacity will be restored in time for Cycle 4 intraday nominations to be accepted there. Noting that in its Operations Planning Report for April, CIG had said the capacity of Parachute Creek Lateral would be reduced to zero during this outage, the pipeline said it will instead reduce the lateral to 80 MMcf/d for all four daily cycles. In addition to the Greasewood systems check, CIG will also begin ESD-related maintenance Tuesday at Trinidad Compressor Station that will continue through Friday, reducing Campo Lateral capacity from 414 to 355 MMcf/d. At the time of its posting, CIG said, Campo Lateral firm capacity was fully subscribed at the 414 MMcf/d level.

Southern Star Central is holding a binding open season through May 8 to solicit bids for new firm transportation service to be created by its proposed Ozark Advance Expansion Project. The expansion will involve increasing capacity of that part of Southern Star’s system potentially beginning at Grabham Station in Montgomery County, KS, and extending eastward along the Grabham-Joplin Line (Segment 260) to Saginaw Station in Newton County, MO. The proposed expansion then would continue from Saginaw Station east along the Springfield Line (Segment 455) to its terminus near Springfield, MO. Assuming timely approval of its expected application, Southern Star anticipates that expansion service will begin as early as the fourth quarter of 2010. See the bulletin board for further open season details.
