Southern Natural Gas reported Thursday that inclement weather was delaying its investigation of a possible leak in its 14-inch diameter Main Pass 107 line offshore Louisiana upstream of the Toca Compressor Station. Based on the latest forecast it will be Sunday or Monday at the earliest before the investigation can start, Southern said. It declared a force majeure and said the Main Pass 108 and Main Pass 118-Hunt Petroleum (AEC) points have been shut in until further notice.

Northern Natural Gas declared a force majeure Thursday in reporting that it must investigate a possible crack on the 16-inch diameter LaCrosse/Tomah branch line in Wisconsin. This requires that it lower the line pressure in order to inspect the pipe and determine if there is damage, and as a result only Primary Firm service will be allowed to flow, Northern said. It does not anticipate any impact to Primary Firm deliveries on the branch line. Inspections are scheduled to last through Saturday, Northern said, and it will post an update after their completion.

Algonquin will begin an outage Friday of the 30-inch diameter line between Southeast and Cromwell compressor stations that is scheduled to continue through May 8. Aggregate capacity under all rate schedules through Southeast will be reduced to 807,000 Dth/d and capacity under all rate schedules through Cromwell will be reduced to 705,000 Dth/d, the pipeline said. Algonquin anticipates that restrictions may be required during this outage and said shippers looking for alternate flow path options can source gas from Tennessee Gas Mendon, Maritimes & Northeast Beverly and Distrigas Everett to avoid the Southeast restriction.

CIG noted that it had previously expected repair work related to the force majeure outage of Niobrara Station (see Daily GPI, April 18) to continue through the end of April. But based on the current progress of the work, CIG now anticipates that the repairs will be completed on May 9. Through that date all nominations at Niobrara will be scheduled to zero.

Gulf South began scheduled maintenance Thursday on its Index 293 segment at Violet Canal in St. Bernard Parish, LA. The work is expected to last three days and requires five meters to be shut in for its duration.

TGT added a new receipt point to its master location list Thursday. The Rocky Hill Road point is on TGT’s Slaughters Bowling Green Market Lateral.
