CenterPoint Energy said mutual assistance crews and support personnel from Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas were helping Xcel Energy to restore natural gas service in Boulder, CO, which sustained extensive damage from recent wildfires.

“Our natural gas technicians are skilled to perform in any type of conditions, just like they do for our customers at home,” said CenterPoint’s Tony Gardner, vice president for Louisiana/Mississippi Gas. “We are fully committed to helping restore service to affected customers as safely and quickly as possible.”

Xcel said gas service had been disrupted for about 13,000 customers in the Boulder area. An Xcel spokesperson told NGI that the company has about 1.4 million natural gas customers in Colorado.
