As it had advised earlier (see Daily GPI, April 20), Sonat said Friday that maintenance on facilities at Logansport, LA on the Sabine River border with Texas required that upstream production be shut in effective Saturday (April 21). The work, affecting 59 receipt points in the Logansport and Joaquin Fields, is expected to run at least through the end of April, Sonat said. The pipeline found it unnecessary to issue a systemwide OFO Type 6 for Saturday, but said the probability for long imbalances was “too close to call” for Sunday and Monday.

After nearly seven months of work, unplanned repairs to Tennessee‘s Sullivan City Line in South Texas have been completed, the pipeline announced. It resumed accepting nominations for the Evening Cycle of Friday’s gas day at 13 meters upstream of valve 407D-102 that were taken out of service by the repairs. When the outage began late last September (see Daily GPI, Sept. 27, 2000), Tennessee had estimated a duration of seven to 10 days.

PG&E Gas Transmission-Northwest will be performing scheduled maintenance from today through the end of April. Kingsgate capacity will be limited to 2,310 MMcf/d by April 23-29 work at Station 3 and on Unit C at Station 13. The Kingsgate limit will be 2,140 MMcf/d during April 30-only work at Station 8.

Starting May 1 and continuing through the end of June, ANR will be running corrosion detection pigs in its onshore Louisiana gathering system (May 1-15) and on the Southeast Mainline (May 16-June 30). Capacity reductions will be required if immediate repairs are indicated, ANR said; otherwise the impact should be minimal if current flow levels continue through May and June.

ONEOK WesTex Transmission Inc, a business unit of ONEOK, reported on Friday that it is holding an open season to identify potential customers for an expansion of its intrastate natural gas pipeline system that provides gas service to the El Paso, TX area. ONEOK said the open season began last Friday (April 20), and will run until 5 p.m.CST on May 14. “This is part of our strategy to fuel the growth in the southwest Texas market,” said Pete Walker, vice president. “The project will increase deliverability to a total capacity of 150,000 MMBtu/d to the city of El Paso, TX, area.” Interested shippers may contact Butch Cheatham at (918) 588-7876.
