NGC Corp. has replaced a combination of Vastar, Washington GasLight and Cook Inlet Energy Supply in managing the natural gassupply, transportation and storage for the City of Richmond, VA.

NGC’s contract, effective immediately, is a full service energysupply asset management transaction providing the City of Richmondwith a delivered city gate service. NGC will manage more than200,000 MMcf/d of firm transportation capacity and 3.6 Bcf of firmstorage held by the city and become the largest seller of naturalgas to Richmond.

“NGC’s nationwide market and supply expertise will enable theCity of Richmond to maximize the efficient use of their natural gasassets. This arrangement will encourage even greater savings beyondthose already achieved by the City of Richmond,” said SteveBergstrom, senior vice president of NGC Corp.

A year ago the municipality had signed a one-year managementagreement with the alliance led by Vastar, which now has been takenover by Southern Company Energy Marketing.

NGC provides asset management services to local gas distributioncompanies and municipalities nationwide and currently manages 1,500MMcf/d of transportation, 35 Bcf/d of storage and 330 MMcf/d ofnatural gas supplies on behalf of its customers.
