Pamela Witmer, who served on the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) for five years, has been named vice president of government affairs for UGI Energy Services LLC. Former Republican Gov. Tom Corbett nominated Witmer in 2011. Her term expired in April. UGI Energy is the natural gas marketing subsidiary of UGI Corp. Along with other utilities, UGI is working to advance the 1 Bcf/d PennEast Pipeline, which would deliver gas from Northeast Pennsylvania to a Transcontinental Gas Pipeline interconnect in New Jersey (see Shale Daily, Aug. 12, 2014). Witmer will represent the company’s interests before public officials and regulatory agencies, among other things. Prior to her time at the PUC, Witmer was head of the energy and environment practice at Pennsylvania-based public relations firm Bravo Group.
