Weekly natural gas cash prices remained under pressure for a fourth week as unseasonably mild February weather limited heating demand across much of the country, while a tanking in natural gas futures contributed to an overriding bearish market sentiment.

NGI’s Weekly Spot National Avg. for the Feb. 5-9 period fell 15.0 cents to $1.965. 

While mild weather across much of the Lower 48 kept pressure on physical natural gas prices, stormy weather in the West kept California and Rocky Mountain prices ticking higher. 

The California Region Avg. added 26.0 cents week/week to an average at $2.820. Supporting the regional advance, PG&E Citygate gained 17.5 cents $3.480, while the SoCal Border Avg. climbed 30 cents to $2.755.
