Weekly natural gas spot prices dropped amid stronger production readings and forecasts for benign temperatures through October and into next month.

NGI’s Weekly Spot Gas National Avg. for the Oct. 9-13 period fell 9.5 cents to $2.310.

Leading decliners included SoCal Border Avg., down 60.0 cents to $2.490; El Paso S. Mainline/N. Baja, off 62.0 cents to $2.395; and Tenn Zone 1 non-St. 87, down 42.0 cents to $1.945.

The November Nymex contract rallied to start the past week – following a 14% gain during the first week of October – then leveled off over the next two sessions, losing a few cents, before slumping to finish the week. It settled at $3.236/MMBtu to close trading on Friday, down 10.8 cents on the day, and down 3% from the prior week’s finish.
