FERC has issued a certificate authorizing Texas Eastern Transmission LP (Tetco) to construct and operate a trio of projects that would reverse flow on its mainline to transport 622,000 Dth/d of natural gas from the Marcellus and Utica shales to Midwest and southeastern markets.

The Railroad Commission of Texas(RRC) is planning a half-day session of the Permian Basin (Spraberry Trend Area) and Delaware Basin Forum and Discussion. The forum is intended to educate oil and gas industry representatives on topics including drilling permits, completions, stacked laterals and RRC website queries. The event is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. CST on Jan. 10 at the Green Tree Country Club, 4900 Green Tree Blvd., Midland, TX. Registration is required and free; seating is limited.

A focus of oil/natural gas industry and environmental tensions for years, the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming became a last stand for the Obama administration recently as U.S. Forest Service (USFS) officials took steps to protect 40,000 acres within the national forest from potential oil/gas leasing.

Rover Pipeline LLC is urging FERC to approve its certificate application by the end of this month, warning that if it can’t start tree clearing by mid-January the project “very likely will be delayed for up to a full year.”

Democrats in both chambers of Congress said they are alarmed by a questionnaire the transition team for President-elect Donald Trump sent Department of Energy (DOE) officials earlier this month, with nine senators calling for an investigation into the matter, although the Trump team has since reportedly disavowed the document.
