Altra Throws TransEnergy into Shopping Cart

Not to be outdone by its integrated energy industry brethren,the energy transaction software industry is also encountering itsfair share of consolidation. Altra Energy announced its third majoracquisition of the year Monday, as the Houston-based softwareprovider entered into a definitive agreement to purchaseTransEnergy. Terms of the agreement between the two privatecompanies were not disclosed, but Paul Bourke, Altra’s CEO, saidthe combined company’s annual revenue will grow into the $50 to$100 million range.

Western Warm-up Throws a Chill on Gas Prices

Cash prices staged a broad-based retreat Monday, giving up 3-5cents at most Eastern points with Western declines tending to belarger at a nickel or more. The market lost some of last week’sfundamental support as a warming trend started to develop in theWest, sources said. In addition, although the Henry Hub futurescontract for May later reversed field and achieved an overall gainfor the day, its weakness in the morning rubbed off on cashtrading.

Foothills Throws in with Alaska LNG Project

Foothills Pipe Lines Ltd. has joined as a sponsor of the AlaskaNorth Slope Gas Project, adding its pipeline expertise to the mixwhich includes producers and a marketer behind the multi-billiondollar project to carry North Slope gas to the Alaskan coast,liquefy it and ship the LNG to Pacific Rim markets.
