El Paso Seeks Detailed Needs for Yuma Lateral

El Paso sent out a request this week for potential shippers onits proposed Yuma Lateral to get their plans in order. The project,which will serve new gas-fired power generation in Sonora and BajaCalifornia, Mexico, includes a broad range of possibilities interms of size and location.

Kern River is accepting bids through this afternoon in an openseason for summer firm capacity from May 1 through Nov. 30. Theavailable space will vary by month, ranging from lows of 25 MMcf/din August and November to a high of 53 MMcf/d in May. The pipelinewill consider fixed-price and indexed bids. Dominion Will Cut 700 Jobs this Year

Dominion Resources said yesterday it will eliminate 700 jobs asa result of its merger with Consolidated Natural Gas. About half ofthe employees affected already have left, the company said. The jobcuts and improved efficiencies created by the merger are expectedto save the company at least $75 million in 2000.
