CCRO Urges Transaction Reporting to Price Surveys

The Committee of Chief Risk Officers (CCRO), pointing to gaps in gas price reporting during the March bidweek, has urged energy buyers and sellers to continue to submit data on transactions to “index developers” during the transition time until its complex and detailed new rules can be put in place. FERC Schedules Technical Conference on Price Surveys

FERC said Friday that it will hold a technical conference on April 24 to discuss issues related to the adequacy of natural gas price information, including how data is collected, how publicly available quotes are checked for authenticity and reliability, adequacy of coverage, what effort is made to determine whether the information received and published is complete or representative of its type of transaction, and what models best serve price discovery needs for natural gas markets.

AGA May Extend Storage Surveys Until April

The American Gas Association currently is polling participants in its weekly storage survey to see if they will continue to cooperate with its survey through next April when the Energy Information Administration (EIA ) will take over the chore. AGA had initially announced in mid-October that it would publish its last survey on Jan. 2, 2002, and EIA followed up with an announcement last month that it would step in.
