A group led by The Conservation Fund has struck a deal to permanently protect 1,042 acres of sage grouse habitat on a working cattle ranch southwest of Daniel, WY, and improve habitat conditions on more than 25,000 acres of adjacent land owned by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the fund said last week.

Fairbanks Utility Will Keep on Trucking LNG with ExxonMobil Deal

ExxonMobil Corp. and Fairbanks Natural Gas LLC (FNG) have struck a long-term contract to supply Alaska North Slope gas to FNG customers in interior Alaska, the companies said last week. The deal could indirectly help head off a shortage of natural gas in the Cook Inlet area, and it is seen by lawmakers as a crack in the ice in the state’s relationship with North Slope natural gas leaseholders.

Tornado-Caused Blast Knocks Out Columbia Gulf Station

Columbia Gulf Transmission (CGT) declared a force majeure event after a tornado struck its Hartsville (TN) Compressor Station about 11:17 p.m. CST Tuesday and caused a fiery explosion. Customers were being kept whole Wednesday by use of storage supplies, but all production-area receipts were suspended until further notice, pipeline spokesman Kelly Merritt said.
