Pacific Gas and Electric Co. (PG&E) Thursday issued a request for information (RFI) to identify partners for a demonstration project reviewing technologies to produce biomethane. The cow dung-to-usable gas process can produce pipeline-quality natural gas, according to PG&E.

In reviewing the company’s progress in 2004 and its priorities for 2005, DTE Energy CEO Anthony F. Earley Jr. said he expects the company will report 2004 operating (non-GAAP) earnings guidance of $2.40 to $2.50 per share. For 2005, Earley said the preliminary estimate for 2005 operating earnings guidance is between $3.30 and $3.60 per share.

CPUC Weighs Options on LNG Jurisdictional Fight
Attorneys for the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) indicated last week that they are reviewing FERC’s denial of rehearing of its decision in the Sound Energy Solution (SES) liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal proposed for the Port of Long Beach, CA. FERC asserted exclusive federal jurisdiction over the proposed LNG receiving terminal (see NGI, June 14, May 24, May 3, April 26). The CPUC has 60 days to make a federal district court filing on the issue.
