Winter Brings Drilling Resumption at Point Thomson

ExxonMobil Production Co. has resumed drilling on two wells started earlier this year at Point Thomson on Alaska’s North Slope and is on schedule to reach total depth by year-end 2010, the company said Wednesday.

Cabot Oil & Gas Corp. on Friday resumed hydraulic fracturing (hydofracing) operations in Susquehanna County, PA, after the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) said the company had complied with the terms of a Sept. 24 order.

Nearly All Points on Rising Trend Again

Prices resumed a mostly moderate climb Monday after having last week’s four-day series of spikes interrupted Friday. Although cold weather was easing a bit after setting date-specific records for low temperatures over the weekend, there was still quite a bit of chill in northern forecasts to keep heating load fairly strong.
