A California state survey has found that cancer rates are not disproportionately high in Hinkley, CA, the high desert ranching town where Pacific Gas and Electric Co.’s (PG&E) natural gas transmission pipeline operations dumped toxic water that contaminated local water supplies, resulting in a $333 million settlement. The case inspired the movie “Erin Brockovich.”

Duke Energy Reaches Rate Settlement in Kentucky

Xcel to Further Lower Colorado Gas Bills

Xcel Energy asked regulators in Colorado to let it lower its natural gas rates to reflect a 24% drop in wholesale commodity costs in July for its residential and small business utility customers. Bills for the month should be down by 12% and 24% for residential and small business customers, respectively.
